So Yosef & Yael are now sitting in Misrad Ha'Pnim waiting to get married. Yes, there was a wedding 6 months ago but our respective documents still have us down as single.
We gathered up any documents that seemed relevant, a photo or three, and a fistful of shekalim. The waiting room has a wireless connection so I can share this experience with the world. Picture please a large, low-ceilinged, gray room. People around you sit and fidget. Glance up at the red flashing numbers that are nowhere near yours. Look at your watch and calculate how late you will be for your 12:30 allergist appointment on the other side of town.
Nice picture, no?

Us in winter
It is cold!! Jerusalem is covered in white slush! Temperatures are noodling around in the area of freezing and what comes from the sky flips between snow and rain. Yosef & Yael are staying warm with lots of covers (Thanks Mom!) and hot cookies.
Married now for 6 months. A good deal.

Apartment and family
Things are coming together. My exams are almost done and I'll be able to focus on my wedding. I signed on the apartment so we'll have a place to live. We bought beds so we have what to sleep on. A stove so we can cook. An oven so we can bake cookies. It's all coming together.
Family is starting to come in this week. Mostly my family. I have the distinct advantage of knowing most of their names.
And invitations are almost all sent! (Yes, I'm the slacker)

moving along
People ask me about my countdown. The truth is there are countdowns, plural. The end of this week brings the end of Yosef's exams. The 19th brings the day that we can move in. And of course the 29th brings the wedding.
Then of course there are the various countdowns to seeing those of you who will be able to make it out here. Sometimes we get too distracted to say clearly how much we're looking forward to catching up, even between the spurts of business.
To all those who have RSVP's or called to say hello or been otherwise helpful or encouraging in this meantime -- you all have our thanks.

Dating before marriage.
An important piece of advice I received was to find time to date. Each other. Even with all the pressure and the to-do lists.
So I have a date for Weds. at 5. I'm excited. It's been so long since I've been on a real date that has potential. Enough with all of these "bleh" evenings.
Wish me luck! :)

Invitations are coming...
For those of you in the USA wondering when you are going to receive your invitations, they are going to start their journey this evening as soon as we finish with addresses. They (& we) look forward to seeing you.
