Apartment and family

Things are coming together. My exams are almost done and I'll be able to focus on my wedding. I signed on the apartment so we'll have a place to live. We bought beds so we have what to sleep on. A stove so we can cook. An oven so we can bake cookies. It's all coming together.

Family is starting to come in this week. Mostly my family. I have the distinct advantage of knowing most of their names.

And invitations are almost all sent! (Yes, I'm the slacker)

moving along

People ask me about my countdown. The truth is there are countdowns, plural. The end of this week brings the end of Yosef's exams. The 19th brings the day that we can move in. And of course the 29th brings the wedding.

Then of course there are the various countdowns to seeing those of you who will be able to make it out here. Sometimes we get too distracted to say clearly how much we're looking forward to catching up, even between the spurts of business.

To all those who have RSVP's or called to say hello or been otherwise helpful or encouraging in this meantime -- you all have our thanks.

Dating before marriage.

An important piece of advice I received was to find time to date. Each other. Even with all the pressure and the to-do lists.

So I have a date for Weds. at 5. I'm excited. It's been so long since I've been on a real date that has potential. Enough with all of these "bleh" evenings.

Wish me luck! :)

Invitations are coming...

For those of you in the USA wondering when you are going to receive your invitations, they are going to start their journey this evening as soon as we finish with addresses. They (& we) look forward to seeing you.

Registry Information

Our Registry information is now available on our web page - Click Here to See Registry

The following is how we decided our registry would work:

Introduction:

When faced with the question of to or not to register, we were left with several difficulties including cultural factors for and against, as well as who is coming from what continent. In the end we have 2 registries.

Registry #1 is at a store called For U Gifts in Israel. We have selected things like table settings and stemware as well as some other kitchen "stuff" from their list. You can order online in English or Hebrew from anywhere in the world and we will receive the gifts after the wedding.

Registry #2 is Target - with the following caveat: The order time for anything shipped to the “shipping address” needs to be sufficient to get to California before August 13 or to you before you head off as it cannot be shipped to Israel directly.
Anything on the Target list can also be purchased at any other place as none of it needs to "match".

Registry #3 is the list available online, which includes the items available at both registries as well as items for which we did not register but which you can pick out, so that you can choose what you would like to help us out with.

For all and any of the above, our thanks --

About this "Blog"

This page is meant to be part web-log of our thoughts and progress, part updates and answers to questions, and part just a useful place to post useful information rather it's directions to the wedding, when you can expect your invitation, or what it is we still need for our house and where we've registered.

All useful information posts will be linked immediately on the side panel.

Enjoy :)
